The following is a transcript of a recent radio interview with Jenny
Randles.

Jenny Randles on BBC Radio 1, Jan 5th.

I stumbled across the interview by accident, so I don't know how much was
missed, not too much I hope!

<Bentwaters Incident>

Jenny Randles: ...They tried to get towards it, and to climb on top of it,
to basically do what you'd expect the US air force to do, catch it. And they
were unable to do so because as they moved towards it, it appeared to move
further back almost like a mirage effect. Very difficult for them to
describe, I've talked to many of these witnesses now, and putting this into
words is, for them, very hard because it's talking about something that's
literally incomprehensible. But it left physical traces behind, that's the
point, it was tangible and real, and nobody is denying that this happened.
In fact I spent three or four years trying to get access to data from the
Ministry of Defence between 1980 and 1983...

Nicky Campbell: Were they helpful?

JR: Totally unhelpful. They completely rejected that anything had happened
at all, until eventually using the Freedom of Information act in America we
did get access to the official report that was sent to the government by the
senior personnel, the deputy base commander in fact, under the advice of,
and support of, the British base commander and Squadron Leader. They denied
this to British citizens, we got it in America. I then took it along to
Whitehall and said "Look here, I've got a document which you've been denying
for several years under the official secrets act, I don't know what I am
supposed to do with this, I intend to publish it, what should I do?" I was
interrogated for an hour or so under armed guard...

NC: Armed guard?!

JR: Yes, until they realised that there was nothing they could do about it,
because I had this document by quite legitimate means, they admitted
ultimately that it was what was it their records, and they have been a bit
more cooperative about it ever since.

NC: Armed guard, that's absolutely outrageous, you don't strike me as a
dangerous woman who would warrant such attention, it shows you how paranoid
they are about it all then. Why are they all so paranoid about it all?

JR: Well, obviously, they didn't want the information about the incident to
come out. I suspect from talking to all the witnesses, not because they know
what it is, but probably because they _don't_ know what it is. It's because
they are trying to find out what this is too. No government would want to
admit that something is flying around which can outstrip our aircraft, can
basically do what it likes in our airspace and they can't do a thing about
it. That's probably a recipe for losing the next election.

NC: The government's got enough on it's plate at the moment without that!

"Star Children". [The name of her new book :) ] What's it all about?

JR: You've all heard stories about people who claim they have been abducted
by aliens, taken into this strange place, given medical examinations...

NC: Frighteningly common stories.

JR: It is, it's getting  more common too, I mean there are now more than a
thousand cases that have been well documented around the world. What we do
in Star Children is go beyond that, because we're looking at instances where
people think that they _themselves_ might actually be aliens. Now I know
there's going to be a lot of people out there laughing at that...

NC: Don't think so at all, a lot of aliens out there will be quite pleased
that you've said that.

JR: I understand that reaction, but the outcome of all of this is that there
literally are people who genuinely believe that this has happened to them.
They literally grow through their lives with visions in their mind of a
strange alien environment. They feel alienated from Earth, they don't belong
here. They have frequent encounters with UFOs and also a sequence of strange
phenomena and they have messages implanted into their mind which tell them
that they are part of, if you like, a "new order" of human being that is
being seeded here.

NC: It's all a bit sinister all that, "new order of human beings", sounds a
bit Nazi doesn't it?

JR: Sort of, there's connotations of that, but fortunately in a good way in
the sense that no one is suggesting that they're going to wipe out the earth
and take over. This is a kind of, almost like a "kick up the bootstraps",
trying to produce a new evolutionary enhancement of humanity.

NC: So if someone is listening and they think they may be an alien, they're
not sure, what are the tell-tale signs?

JR: Well, let's be straight about this. People are not actually claiming "I
am an alien" obviously. If that were to happen I'd be most suspicious right
from the start. All they're doing is coming to us with these stories and
saying "These bizarre things are happening, I don't know where these
memories are from". Most of them are of course terrified of talking about it
in public. The majority say to me "I don't want my husband or my wife to
know about this"

NC: Where are the memories coming from? Let's go along with the theory,
let's not laugh about it, let's go along with the premise that these are
"Star Children", has there been some kind of genetic implant, what's
happened?

JR: To some extent, some of them talk about being involved in alien
abductions, and having some kind of experimentation carried out on them.
They feel that they're like pieces of a jigsaw puzzler that's eventually
going to slot together and when the time is right, effectively they'll all
be "mobilized" by some other intelligence out there that is working for the
benefit of mankind.

NC: So what's the alien master plan? Is it to have more and more of these
people on the Earth until eventually they form the majority and there's a
whole new world order of light and benevolence, or what?

JR: Well, I'm not saying I believe what...

NC: Oh no no no no, we're going along with it...

JR: The point is that what I can say to you is that this is what the
witnesses are coming up with, and you can interpret it in a number of
different ways. If you choose to evaluate this in some kind of psychological
way, that there's some kind of global psychosis spreading around the world,
fine. Otherwise, you may choose to interpret it literally. And if you do,
what they're saying is that there is some kind of plan to enhance psychic
abilities because this is something that we have lost.

NC: Alternatively it could just be a load of hippy claptrap couldn't it?

JR: Absolutely. The point is these witnesses are sincere.

NC: No one doubts there sincerity, whether its a subjective or objective
experience who knows, and that's the fun of it.
