Alpha Ursae Minoris, "Polaris", (once
called "Alracubba" by medieval Arabs),
is the current pole star. It is both a
variable and a double star of 18
seconds separation. Its closest
approach to the pole will be in
2102 A.D. Observing the "motion" of
the stars, you'll see them "revolve"
around Polaris.
