  4. Registered users of earlier versions of FLU_SHOT+ will receive an
  5. invitation in the mail to register this version.  Registered users
  6. can update their copy of FLU_SHOT+ for a sizeable discount: keep an
  7. eye on your mailbox for more details.

  9. If you registered any earlier version of FLU_SHOT+ after June 1, 1991,
  10. and before August 1, 1991, you'll be entitled to upgrade to Version 1.83
  11. for only the four dollar shipping and handling charge.  You'll receive
  12. the special upgrade offer in the mail.

  14. Updating Your Current Copy of FLU_SHOT+ From The Archive

  17. If you're already a registered user of FLU_SHOT+, updating to the current
  18. version is very easy:  since you have already de-arced or de-zipped the
  19. archive containing FLU_SHOT+ (or you wouldn't be reading this!), copy the
  20. FSP.COM file over to the same directory as your current copy of, using
  21. the same name as you had for the earlier release.  If you opted to use the
  22. name of FLUSHOT.DAT in your C:\ directory, you're finished.  If not,
  23. you'll have to use the FLU_POKE program to insert the name and directory
  24. location of your FLUSHOT.DAT protections file.  If you named thge FSP.COM
  25. program "NOVIRUS.COM" and named your FLUSHOT.DAT file as "RECIPES.DAT", and
  26. both the program and datafile reside in a directory on your C: drive called
  27. "MY_STUFF", the command line you'd use would be:

  29.       C> FLU_POKE C:\MY_STUFF\NOVIRUS.COM
  30.  
  31. You'll then be prompted for the full name of the already existing
  32. FLUSHOT.DAT file, and you'd enter "C:\MY_STUFF\RECIPES.DAT" for the
  33. above example.

  35. That's it!  You've updated!

  38. Updating Your Current Copy of FLU_SHOT+ From The Install Program
  39. ----------------------------------------------------------------

  41. Registered users of FLU_SHOT+ receive an installation program that
  42. makes their life a bit easier.  If you're a registered user, you
  43. should use the Version 1.83 version of the installation program, or
  44. you might lose the FLUSHOT.DAT data you've already constructed.
  45. If you want to use the earlier version of the install program, backup
  46. the FLUSHOT.DAT file to a temporary name, install the new release of
  47. FLU_SHOT+ using the installation program, then copy the FLUSHOT.DAT
  48. file back to it's original location, using the original file name.
