This application serves as a ruler to measure things on your computer desktop. Reglo also allows you to resize the window of other applications.
Reglo anchors its icon in the system tray which, by default, is located at the bottom right of your desktop, and contains the system clock. You may invoke the application menu by right-clicking on the icon.
MENU
- Toggle Visibility: Toggle the visibility of the ruler.
- Arrange Window: Reset the position and size of the ruler.
- Always on Top: Keep the ruler on top of other windows.
- Show Guide: Show the cursor position on the ruler.
- Toggle Orientation: Change the ruler's orientation from horizontal to vertical and vice versa.
- Flip Graduations Side: Display the graduations on the opposite side of the ruler.
- Units: Select the units of measurement for the ruler.
- Dialog: A du is equal to 1/4dbu horizontally and 1/8dbu vertically.
- Dialog Base: A dbu is equal to the average size of a Windows system font character.
- Centimeters: A cm is equal to 0.394in.
- Inches: An in is equal to 2.54cm.
- Pixel: A pix is a display device unit corresponding to one dot.
- Pica: A pica is equal to 3/5in.
- Point: A pt is equal to 1/20in.
- Twip: A twip is equal to 1/1440in.
- Base 2: Use a binary-based graduations display.
- Base10: Use a decimal-based graduations display.
- Scale: Scale the units.
- Normal: Do not scale.
- Zoom In: Increment the units scaling factor.
- Zoom Out: Decrement the units scaling factor.
- Custom: Set the units scaling factor to a specific percentile value.
- Toggle Sizing Tool: Toggle the visibility of the Sizing Tool window.
- Help: Display this window.
- About Reglo: Display information about this product.
- Close: Exit the application.
POINTING DEVICE (MOUSE) INTERFACE
Application window:
- The window can be resized by grabbing its border.
- The window can be moved by grabbing its framed area.
- Right-clicking the window pops up the commands menu.
- Double-clicking the window invokes the Sizing Tool.
- Use the arrow keys to move the window pixel by pixel.
Application icon in the task bar (the system tray to be more precise):
- Right-clicking the icon pops up the commands menu.
- Double-clicking the icon toggles the visibility of the window.
TIPS
- Use the Sizing Tool to measure project layouts targeted for screen resolutions different than yours, without having to switch to them.
- It is normal to observe irregular spacing in some units of measurement due to the relatively low spatial resolution of computer monitors.
