- GRAPHICS MODE

- Switch to Graphics mode by clicking
- on the "Pencil" icon in the toolkit
- to draw simple pieces of line-art.

- In Graphics mode, the browser is
- replaced by the drawing tools.

- SELECTING A FRAME
-
- You must have a frame selected in
- order to draw. Select a frame in
- which to draw by clicking in it. A
- grid will appear to help you draw.
-

-
- SNAPPING TO THE GRID
-
- Graphics objects automatically
- "jump" or snap to the nearest grid
- point when drawn, moved or sized.
- The grid is based on the unit of
- measurement used on the rulers and
- the current view size.
-
- Click on Snap to grid in the
- Graphics menu to turn snapping off.
- This command is ticked when snapping
- is turned on.
- DRAWING TOOLS
-
- Select the drawing tool you need by
- clicking on its icon in the browser.
- The pointer will turn into a
- crosshair icon.
-
- STRAIGHT LINE
-
- To draw a straight line, drag the
- pointer in the frame from the point
- where you want the line to begin to
- the point where the line should end.
- RECTANGLE
-
- To draw a rectangle, drag the
- crosshair from the point where the
- upper left corner of the rectangle
- should be to the point where the
- lower right corner should be.

- CIRCLE/ELLIPSE
-
- To draw a circle or ellipse, drag
- the crosshair from one corner of an
- imaginary rectangle enclosing the
- circle or ellipse to the opposite
- corner.

- LINE STYLE
-
- Choose Line style in the Graphics
- menu to select the style of your
- line.
-
- If a line is selected, the new style
- will be applied to it. If there is
- no line selected, the style applies
- to the next line drawn.

- FILL STYLE
-
- Choose Fill style in the Graphics
- menu to choose from 36 opaque or
- clear tints, and to decide whether
- or not to display the graphic
- object's outer edge.
-
- If an object is selected, the new
- tint will fill it. If there is no
- object selected, the tint will fill
- the next object drawn.
-
- SIZING OBJECTS
-
- To size an object, first click on it
- to select it. Drag a corner handle
- to size the frame in any direction,
- and a centre handle to size it
- vertically or horizontally.

- MOVING OBJECTS
-
- To move an object, click on it to
- select it, then drag it to the place
- you want.
-
- STACKING OBJECTS
-
- Use Bring to front and Send to back
- in the Options menu to stack
- graphic objects in the desired
- order. An object must first be
- selected by clicking on it.
- CUTTING OBJECTS
-
- To cut an object out of the document
- and place it in the buffer, first
- select the object, then do one of
- the following:
-
- * Click on Cut in the Edit menu
-
- * Press [Alt][X]
-
- * Press [Delete]
-
- PASTING OBJECTS
-
- To paste an object into a document
- (which need not be the document or
- page it was cut from), either choose
- Paste in the Edit menu, or press
- [Alt][V] or [Insert].

- COPYING OBJECTS
-
- To copy an object to the buffer,
- select the object then click on Copy
- in the Edit menu or press [Alt][C].
