The Union Building is impressive too, palatially big with facilities to spare, if a bit like a rabbit warren. Politically, there is a pull to the right from the 'agri' students, but others tend to be mildly left.[EITAL][HDNG]SU FACILITIES:[EHDNG][PARA]There's a whole floor of franchise outlets, currently hosting a record store, travel shop and others. The charity Rag raised รบ14,000 last time they counted and SCAN(Student Community Action Newcastle) has a very high profile with local help projects, a full time staff member and its own fund-raising shop and minibuses.[HDNG]RELIGIOUS:[EHDNG][PARA][STAT][BULL] 3 chaplains (CofE, RC, Methodist)[ESTAT][PARA]If not in Newcastle itself, most denominations are represented on the Tyne and Wear conurbation.[HDNG]PAID WORK:[EHDNG][PARA][ITAL]High levels of unemployment leave students at the back of the queue[EITAL], although there are a few opportunities in bars, the theatres and underpaid work at the Metro Centre.[PARA][PARA]
