  3. This is the SuperDisk Help  on  Help.  To  get help at any
  4. time,  type |[F1|$  and  a   relevant  help page  will appear.
  5. Within Help you  can  cross  reference  to  items  in this
  6. colour:

  10. by double-clicking on the  item,  or  moving the cursor to
  11. the item and pressing [Return].

  13. You can re-size, close,  zoom, un-zoom and move most boxes
  14. with the mouse as  shown  below.  The scroll bars indicate
  15. where within the text you are,  and you can move around in
  16. the text by dragging  the  thumb-tabs, clicking the arrow-
  17. heads, or using the  Up,  Down,  Left,  Right, Page-Up, or
  18. Page-Down keys.

  20. You can jump to  the  end  of  the  text with [Ctrl][Page-
  21. Down], or to  the  start  with  [Ctrl][Page-Up].  On those
  22. boxes which allow it, you can re-size it by any corner.

  38. If you don't have a mouse,  you can move and re-size boxes
  39. with the Scroll Lock like this:

  41. Press the Scroll Lock once and  you'll be able to move the
  42. box with the arrow keys. To re-size  the box use the Home,
  43. End, Page-Up and Page-Down keys. You'll probably find this
  44. works best on the numeric  keypad. Remember to release the
  45. Scroll Lock after use.

  143. You make a selection by using the Up, Down and Enter keys,
  144. or by double clicking on a  selection and using the scroll
  145. bar.

  147. When a selection is made a dialogue box opens allowing you
  148. to run a program,  read  the  documentation,  or install a
  149. program. In some cases,  you  must  install the program or
  150. documentation before they can be used.

  156. To move up and down the file, use the Up,  Down,  Page-Up,
  157. and Page-Down keys. You can  zoom  the window to full size
  158. and back with F5 or  you  can  click on the maximise frame
  159. gadget.

  227. Selecting this  menu  entry  provides  an  information box
  228. showing the capacity of any disks in each drive (up to F:)
  229. in Kbytes, the free space in Kbytes, and the percentage of
  230. free space.

  232. If your floppy drives have no disks in them, there will be
  233. a short delay while the program determines this.
  234.  
  235. This information is provided  to  help  you  plan where to
  236. install  SuperDisk  programs  on  your  disk  drives.  The
  237. SuperDisk menu program understands  single and dual floppy
  238. drive systems without a  hard  disk,  and  will even allow
  239. installation on RAM drives if  they  are large enough, and
  240. as long as they are not JOINed.

  244. %% Diagnostic Diagnostics
  245. SuperDisk Help - Diagnostics
  246. This menu option executes a  series of diagnostics on your
  247. PC and writes the results  to  a  file.  This need only be
  248. used if you have problems  using  the SuperDisk, and is to
  249. assist us in solving any problems you may come across.

  251. To do this select the diagnostics option,  which will save
  252. a file  called PCPLUS.DIA  to the root  directory of  your
  253. hard disk  (if you have one),  or to the root directory of
  254. the disk in your second floppy drive (if you have one).
  255.  
  256. This report  will not be  saved on systems  with one drive
  257. and no hard disk.
  258.  
  259. Once saved, you should print out the file by typing:
  260.  
  261.     COPY PCPLUS.DIA PRN
  262.  
  263. and send it to us at the usual address,  along with a note
  264. detailing everything about your problem.

  269. SuperDisk Help - DOS Shell
  270. This option temporarily returns you to  DOS in the form of
  271. a "shell". On floppy drive systems  you may be prompted to
  272. load a boot disk, to enter the shell.

  274. You will then be able to  perform  any DOS actions you may
  275. need (such as disk formatting).
  276.  
  277. Type EXIT to resume execution of the SuperDisk.

  306. This text entry field is for entering the full drive, file
  307. and path name of a directory on disk a to which a program,
  308. or it's documentation, will be copied from the SuperDisk.

  310. The SuperDisk program  provides  a  default directory name
  311. for you (which will usually be  acceptable) - to accept it
  312. just press [Return]. To  change  it  use  the Left, Right,
  313. Home and End keys  (or  the  mouse  to position the cursor
  314. where you wish) and edit the name as required.
  315.  
  316. Press [Return] or [Tab] when you have finished.
  317.  
  318. NOTE: You may not  specify  a  directory  on the SuperDisk
  319. itself, and on single floppy  drive  systems, you may only
  320. install to hard disk or RAM disk.

  329. SuperDisk Help - What to Install
  330. This check box allows  you  to  specify whether to install
  331. just the  program  or  the  documentation,  or  both.  The
  332. default  is both  (when there  is both a  program and some
  333. documentation, sometimes it may be just one or the other).
  334.  
  335. To toggle a check box  that  sets the option, position the
  336. cursor on the box and press [Return], or click on it.
  337.  
  338. In some cases, there is only  a  program or a document and
  339. not both. When this is  the case, the impossible selection
  340. will be invisible.
  341.  
  342. However, in the case of programs that require installation
  343. you  may find that  previously unavailable  buttons become
  344. available when installation is complete.

  354. This button is used after you have specified the directory
  355. where a program  or documentation is to be installed,  and
  356. what you want installed.  If  the  directory you specified
  357. already exists, you are asked if  you want to proceed with
  358. the installation.

  360. If the  SuperDisk  detects  that  either  the  program  or
  361. documentation are already  installed,  and  you have asked
  362. for one or both to be installed,  you will be asked if you
  363. wish to proceed with the re-installation.

  365. If you proceed with the re-installation a window opens and
  366. shows you its progress.

  372. You should answer the question asked in  this box  with 'I'
  373. (for 'Install')  to continue this part of the installation,
  374. or 'C' (for 'Cancel') to abandon installation.

  376. Pressing  [Escape] is  the same  as 'Cancel'.  Whatever you
  377. reply, the box will then close.
