  12. I have used the BIT PHAXswitch OK sharing between a BT Merlin and a
  13. 1200/2400 dialup line. Works very well - cost was about 180 about two years
  14. ago. It has an auto mode, detecting fax negotiation and switching to
  15. phone/modem if it isn't a fax, or voice switching, where you have to say "fax".
  16. Haven't tried it at speeds above 2400 though.

  18. Unfortunately I have to return it to its owner tomorrow, and I'm now looking
  19. at modern fax machines with built in switches.
