- I have used the BIT PHAXswitch OK sharing between a BT Merlin and a
- 1200/2400 dialup line. Works very well - cost was about 180 about two years
- ago. It has an auto mode, detecting fax negotiation and switching to
- phone/modem if it isn't a fax, or voice switching, where you have to say "fax".
- Haven't tried it at speeds above 2400 though.

- Unfortunately I have to return it to its owner tomorrow, and I'm now looking
- at modern fax machines with built in switches.
