- Supervenience begins with Moore, in _Principia Ethica_, I believe.
- It was adopted by philosophical psychology in the 1970s, to describe
- the relation between mind and brain under token identity theory.
- It is dealt with extensively in Fodor's book, _Psychosemantics_.
