  24. Well, I do have a few minor problems with this notion:  1)  this assumes
  25. a genetic basis for people enjoying being single; 2) it assumes that 
  26. enjoying being single precludes enjoying being coupled (which is patently
  27. not true, since I quite enjoy both of these states and regions in between);
  28. 3) it assumes that people who enjoy being single do not reproduce (not a
  29. valid assumption and, further, one might suspect that there would be some
  30. survival advantage conferred by a tendency to produce genetically diverse
  31. offspring (i.e. with several different women) before settling down.

  39. Hmmmm...seems I had that gene for some time, but its expression appears 
  40. to have gone into remission and now I'm just accumulating jewels and
  41. electronics.  (Though I still occasionally lavish chainmail and other
  42. odd creations on brunettes.)
