- Well, I do have a few minor problems with this notion: 1) this assumes
- a genetic basis for people enjoying being single; 2) it assumes that
- enjoying being single precludes enjoying being coupled (which is patently
- not true, since I quite enjoy both of these states and regions in between);
- 3) it assumes that people who enjoy being single do not reproduce (not a
- valid assumption and, further, one might suspect that there would be some
- survival advantage conferred by a tendency to produce genetically diverse
- offspring (i.e. with several different women) before settling down.

- Hmmmm...seems I had that gene for some time, but its expression appears
- to have gone into remission and now I'm just accumulating jewels and
- electronics. (Though I still occasionally lavish chainmail and other
- odd creations on brunettes.)
