  12. I just read an artile in today's (28 Jan) Los Angeles Times about The
  13. Advocate and its current hard times.  Besides "downsizing" their work
  14. force, they're being sued by a man who claims that he was sexually
  15. harassed by his male supervisor and by a lesbian editor who claims
  16. that she was discriminated agains because she's female/lesbian.

  18. In the sexual harassment case, The Advocate originally tried to have
  19. the case thrown out of court on the grounds that same-sex sexual
  20. harassment was not prohibited by law.  The lawyer for the man suing
  21. said that it most certainly was.  Apparently The Advocate agrees,
  22. since they withdrew that motion.

  24. Other woman editors have quit, saying that they too were discriminated
  25. agains because they were lesbians.  On the other hand, the editor who
  26. replaced one of these women is also a lesbian, which the management
  27. claims is proof that they don't discriminate.
