- Interesting slip . . . he never promised this, so far as I know. He
- said he'd sign a gay rights bill if Congress passed it and it had clear
- evidentiary standards. He didn't say he'd propose it or work for its
- passage. I actually found it somewhat reassuring that this was how he
- phrased it, figuring it meant he was trying not to promise more to glbs
- than he would deliver; it gave me more confidence in his promises.
