  12. Many citizens of the US are sending messages by phone and mail to the White
  13. House urging President Clinton to NOT lift the ban on gays and lesbians in the
  14. military.  It is essential that our voices in support of ending the 50 year ban
  15. are heard:

  17. IMMEDIATELY DO THE FOLLOWING:

  19. 1.  Telephone the White House at 202-456-1111 and tell them to lift the ban
  20. now.  If you get a busy signal,  keep trying.  It doesn't count unless you
  21. connect.

  23. 2.  Write and send by overnight mail if possible to the White House at the
  24. following address:

  29. Washington. D.C.  20500

  31. 3.   Legislation is being introduced in the House and Senate to make the ban
  32. enforceable by legislation.  (Remember the ban was instituted through an
  33. Executive Order 50 yrs ago - legislation could make the ban into LAW!!!)  It is
  34. essential you immediate call and write your Congressperson and Senator and let
  35. them know you oppose such legislation.  Senators are the most important right
  36. now - VISIT THEM IN PERSON IF POSSIBLE.
