- There was a study published in the Journal of AMA about 4-5 years ago,
- and I am sure similar studies published since then, which looked at the
- seroconversion rate of partners of HIV+ patients based on whether they
- used condoms or not.

- As I recall, the rate of conversion for those not using condoms was
- about 60% per year, and in the range of 10% for those who did use
- condoms. Of course, there are many important details required to
- extrapolate the results of this study (which included heterosexual as
- well as homosexual couples) to whatever population you are interested
- in. I'll let you look up the details from the article yourself if you
- are interested rather than relying on my own faulty memory.
