- The January issue of IEEE Spectrum stated that although an HDTV standard
- has not been selected, a framework for introducing HDTV has been adopted.
- NTSC television stations will be given a second channel on which to broadcast
- HDTV programs. This dual channel system will be used for 15 years. After
- 15 years, television statitions will have to give up one channel, and only
- HDTV signals will (presumably) be broadcast.
