  11. It is not necessary to drill all the way through the case in order to
  12. convert a VHS tape to S-VHS capable.  You only need to make a "dent"
  13. sufficient in depth for whatever sensors the VCR has.

  15. I've been using a drill on VHS tapes now since I got the S-VHS deck and
  16. notice an improvement, mostly at EP speeds.  Even on a 1976 Sears Color
  17. TV!
