  20. mode. You're right about the 1000. The Dolby chip in there was 
  21. analog, and thus you were limited to flat frequency response
  22. when in Dolby.

  24. In the 2000, the Dolby processing is done digitally, and the
  25. other digital signal processing can be applied to dolby, including
  26. compression/expansion. The Pro-logic decoder can be employed
  27. in surround modes 8 and 9 also on the 2000.

  29. Additionally, on the 2000, you can set three different EQ curves,
  30. Front Pair, Front Center, and Rear, to allow you to match
  31. different speakers, and much better match your room.

  33. I just picked up my 2000 last night, but haven't hooked it up
  34. yet, as I must go through catalogging the snake pit of cables
  35. already hooked up to my existing 1000 which I will be disconnecting.

  37. I'm not looking forward to rewiring, but really want to hear the
  38. new unit. One drawback to the 2000 is that I haven't been able
  39. to find a front panel mute button, which is one of the front panel
  40. controls I probably used the most on the 1000.

  44. Does anyone know if the 2000 has a self-demonstration mode like
  45. the 1000 had? I remember that the mode on the 1000 was not
  46. mentioned in the user's manual, and that I found out about it
  47. in an "Audio" or "Stereo Review" article on the original unit.
