  13.     My parents have a karaoke effects module hooked up to the AV system
  14. which they use to play VHS karaoke tapes.  I once tried to hook an LD up to
  15. the effects processor and played some karaoke LD's.  I noticed that some LD's
  16. refuse to work with the module and some do.  The LD player (which is a karaoke
  17. model) also has a little problem with the former type since I had to switch
  18. between digital and analog and left/right/stereo to get everything right, since
  19. they refuse to work with the effects module.  The latter works just like the V
  20. HS tapes when I played the analog track, so there's no problem there.  When I
  21. use the effects module, I turn off the LD player's karaoke feature, and vice
  22. versa to make the comparison.
  23.     So does anyone know that the problem is with the two types of LD's?
  24. An overview with what and what is on which track will be greatly appreciated.
  25. I'm deciding between the regular and karaoke LD players right now (the test
  26. LD player was borrowed).  Since the effects module produces much better quality
  27. sound than the LD player's own karaoke processor (a Pioneer model), I would
  28. like to know how many of which type of LD's are on the market so I can decide
  29. if I really need the redundancy of owning a karaoke LD player.
