  13. I have recently moved to the U.S from England and brought a number of VCR 
  14. tapes with me.  Although I understand these cannot be played on my U.S. VCR (
  15. Panasonic S-VHS) as they're in PAL format, I would like to know if I 
  16. can record over them?  I realize that as they are not S-VHS tapes I will not 
  17. be able to record in S-VHS, although they may be useful for general use.  I 
  18. know I could put them in and try it, but not being much of  mechanical wiz I 
  19. didn't look forward to untangling the tape from the machine if it didn't 
  20. work.
