  16.      I don't know much about Toronto but if you plan on coming to 
  17. Ottawa from Toronto here's some info.
  18.  
  19.  - Ottawa is about 5 hours drive from Toronto. Highway 401 East from
  20.    TO to Ottawa is quite good, however beware of the dangerous
  21.    combination of snow drift and transport trucks. They can run you off
  22.    the road (and chances are you won't even know what happened).
  23.    As far as ice, you are best to check road conditions and weather before
  24.    you travel. The road conditions can go from clear to snowy to icy.
  25.    General rule of thumb is unless is coming down pretty hard (snow) or
  26.    unless it's coming down as freezing rain or it's very windy you shouldn't
  27.    have any problems. Just take it easy and enjoy the ride.

  29.  - The Winter festival in the Nations Capital is called 'Winterlude'. 
  30.    It's from Feb 5 to 14th.
  31.    The festival is ten days of indoor and outdoor activities. 
  32.    Skating on the world longest skating rink is one of them. The Rideau
  33.    canal is turned into a 7.5 Km long rink and many events are scheduled
  34.    on and round the canal. There's a snow play ground that is build in
  35.    Jacques Cartier Park in Hull (just across the river from Ottawa) that has
  36.    all kinds of snow and ice slides and structures for the kids. They will
  37.    be attempting to break the record for the world's largest snow man.
  38.    There's the Ice Sculptures competition at Ottawa's Dow's Lake which is
  39.    always nice to see also. And many more.

  41.  - For fun in the snow you could also got to the experimental farm (West
  42.    end of Ottawa and go for a horse driven slay ride. This could be a lot
  43.    of fun with the kids.

  45.  - As far as history there's quite a bit here to see and visit.

  64.    Bring some very warm clothing. It can get very cold (~ -25 C or -13 F),
  65.    and with the wind, oooohh. But on the other hand if your lucky, I nice
  66.    sunny they and - 5 C ( 23 F) is also possible and very enjoyable.
  67.    Toronto is usually a little warmer then Ottawa.
