- It might be warmish (70o F daytimes), but the odds are it will be
- chilly (to us from warm climates: 50o-60o F) and damp. I always take
- multi-layers to Scotland, even in the summer: cotton turtleneck,
- cashmere pullover, cashmere cardigan, all-weather coat; with a few
- extra blouses and two weights (warm, light) of trousers or skirts, I
- can get around comfortably. ALWAYS take lightweight gloves (it gets
- cold at night) and an umbrella. My husband, who is much
- warmer-natured, still takes an overcoat (Burberry raincoat with zip-in
- lining) to Scotland, and it's one of the few places in the world where
- he wears a sweater or sweater-vest under a jacket. In May, it could
- get warmer--last year in the 80's F during the day.
