- Katmai in Alaska is not all that big, but some others (Denali and Wrangall
- St Ellas) are huge (I believe Wrangall St Ellas is about 12,000,000 acres,
- compared to about 2,000,000 for Yellowstone).

- I have found a guidebook from National Geographic to be helpful for the 50
- National Parks. It doesn't help much with other Park Service properties,
- such as National Monuments, National Forests, National Historical Parks, etc.
- All of the above parks are described, with info on how to get there, where to
- stay/camp, when to go, what to see, etc.

-
- Not surprising, since only 8 of the 50 National Parks are east of the
- Mississippi.
