- Please! Tp rate Hadlee as a better all-rounder than Kapil, or any of the other
- great all-rounders for that matter, is ludicrous. Hadlee was a truly great
- bowler - the best of those you mentioned above. But his batting was not in the
- same class at all. His all-round capabilities were not as good as Kapil or
- Imran or Botham. I am not really in a position to comment on Benaud, but I
- would wager that the same applies to him.
- Sobers, of course, stands above the rest. Kieth Miller too I would
- think, although I don't know his stats offhand, and I haven't seen very much of
- him playing. You could justifiably rank Kapil behind Botham, although I can
- see arguments both ways on that one. Imran was a better bowler in his prime
- perhaps, but Kapil had the superior batting for the most part so that again is
- a very subjective question. But Hadlee, although being a better bowler than all
- of these, was not in the same class as an all-rounder.
