  23. While this may have been true at one time, the number of head injuries from 
  24. skiing is increasing.  On Sunday a (probably out of control) skier went into
  25. the trees and shattered his jaw, among other things (no damage to the juggler[sic]
  26. vein, thank goodness ;-), or he'd never make it as a circus performer!) Last
  27. year at Santa Fe a kid did the same thing, but he died of his injuries--head
  28. injuries.

  30. I'm not advocating everybody skiing in helmets mind you.  Actually, both of 
  31. these yahoos were skiing out of control when they bought it.  I think maybe
  32. ski patrol should tighten up a bit on the "Ski out of control, lose your pass
  33. or ticket" rule that exists most places.  If we could cut down on the number
  34. of OOCYs (Out Of Control Yahoos), we wouldn't *need* helmets, or this discussion.
  35. (BTW, I wear a helmet when I race Super G or Downhill, and on some GS courses,
  36. but that's it.)
