- While this may have been true at one time, the number of head injuries from
- skiing is increasing. On Sunday a (probably out of control) skier went into
- the trees and shattered his jaw, among other things (no damage to the juggler[sic]
- vein, thank goodness ;-), or he'd never make it as a circus performer!) Last
- year at Santa Fe a kid did the same thing, but he died of his injuries--head
- injuries.

- I'm not advocating everybody skiing in helmets mind you. Actually, both of
- these yahoos were skiing out of control when they bought it. I think maybe
- ski patrol should tighten up a bit on the "Ski out of control, lose your pass
- or ticket" rule that exists most places. If we could cut down on the number
- of OOCYs (Out Of Control Yahoos), we wouldn't *need* helmets, or this discussion.
- (BTW, I wear a helmet when I race Super G or Downhill, and on some GS courses,
- but that's it.)
