  22. A problem might be that it is not just Europeans who are interested in
  23. discussing skiing in Europe, and the eunet.* news groups are not
  24. necessarily well distributed outside of Europe. While I know that we
  25. receive some of the eunet.* news groups, we do not receive them all.

  27. Certainly, one could be forgiven for thinking that rec.skiing is just
  28. about skiing in North America (but don't most news groups have a
  29. North American bias?  :-), and this probably inhibits people from
  30. posting on skiing in other parts of the world. However, in the grand
  31. scheme of things on Usenet, the volume of postings on rec.skiing
  32. would not be considered to be sufficient for a split (compare the
  33. volume to rec.sport.cricket, for example!  :-).

  35. For the record, snow skiing is almost non-existent in Southern Africa,
  36. so it won't need its own news group!  :-(
