- The Willamette & Pacific's operation of SP's westside branches will
- result in the elimination of 30 SP positions. However, the W&P has 65
- positions available and SP employees are being given priority. The
- general manager of W&P is Bob Melbo, former SP Traffic Mgr., and also
- former Oregon Div. Superintendent.

- Fairly extensive track rehabilitation will be required, as very few
- trains have used the Westside Branch, it being a storage track for cars
- sold to Gunderson Bros. for several years.
