  27. Unfortunately, a severe earthquake hit the Pueto Limon area in April 1991
  28. damaging all communications between San Jose and Limon.  The roads were
  29. fairly quickly restored with temporary bridges where necessary, but since
  30. Costa Rica is the not a rich nation, funds have not yet been found to
  31. repair the rail link.  The last I heard is that the authorities there do
  32. intend to re-build the railway, but when ... ??  :-(
