- Unfortunately, a severe earthquake hit the Pueto Limon area in April 1991
- damaging all communications between San Jose and Limon. The roads were
- fairly quickly restored with temporary bridges where necessary, but since
- Costa Rica is the not a rich nation, funds have not yet been found to
- repair the rail link. The last I heard is that the authorities there do
- intend to re-build the railway, but when ... ?? :-(
