- You can get pages similar to those from the photo labs except that they
- are extended to make room for three holes. Put your negs in such
- pages, and put the pages in a archival binder.
-
- Two popular brand names are: PrintFile and VueAll. VueAll ones are
- less expensive, but I I prefer the PrintFile neg/slide pages myself.
-
- As for binders, I quite like the "Portfolio II" from Eraplast Inc. in
- Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Most of the other binders I've seen require
- the little tabs to be bent more than 90 degrees. The Portfolio II has
- one big tab that only needs to be depressed about 10 degrees. Should
- hold up better in the long term.
-
- Alas, most archival binders have hinges that rely on the plasticity of
- the material (polyethelyne) and may eventually break as most binder
- hinges are apt to do. If you're going to be opening and closing the
- binder lots, you might be better off finding an archival box instead.
- They're cheaper (less complex), usually made of cardboard (no
- plasticity required), and some have binder rings.
