- You can make multiple exposures with the X-700, but the camera wasn't
- designed to do it, and they won't be perfectly accurate. Here's how to
- do it:
-
- Snug up the film in the cassette by turning the rewind crank clockwise.
- Don't try to turn it past the point of resistance.
- Hold the rewind crank with one hand to prevent it from turning.
- Push in and hold the rewind release button with your second hand.
- With your third hand, wind the film advance lever.
- Repeat this for additional exposures on this frame of film.
- When you are through with that frame, release the rewind crank and allow
- the rewind release button to pop out when you advance the film.
- NOW ADVANCE THE FILM ONCE MORE. This extra advance is necessary because
- the release button does not pop out at the beginning of the wind, and
- if you don't do it you will partially overlap frames.
-
- It is VERY unfortunate that Minolta did not put that capability on the X-700.
- If multiple exposure capability is important to you, I would suggest that
- you find a used XD-5 or XD-11. Both of these cameras have built-in
- multiple exposure capability and are completely compatible with your
- lenses. These cameras have manual, aperture priority AND shutter priority
- modes, and also have a completely manual mode if the batteries fail. They
- are in Shutterbug for ~$200.
