  15. I have read more and more about these incidents occuring.  I know 2
  16. families whose dogs were taken right out of there fenced in yards by
  17. someone in a dark van.  I know that people who let their animals roam,
  18. especially cats, feel stongly that their animals deserve freedom, but is
  19. letting them have this freedom worth the possibility that they could be
  20. picked up for medical experiments or worse?  I'm not even sure I would let
  21. a dog out in a fenced in yard unsupervised anymore.  There are people
  22. desperate for money out there, and they do get paid for bringing in live
  23. animals.  These people do horrible things to the animals before they even
  24. get to the labs.  An example is that these brutes cut dog's vocal cords so
  25. no one can hear them barking.  I was in a humane society one day checking
  26. out the cats, and of course I had to go see the dogs.  There were 2 dogs
  27. that had been found in a chicken coop with 67 other dogs whose cords had
  28. been cut.  They mad the most pitiful sound trying to bark and growl at me
  29. that I have ever heard.  I ran out of there in tears.  Please please please
  30. keep dogs supervised while they are out and keep your cats indoors.  These
  31. are the only 100% sure ways to keep them alive, safe, and healthy.
