  19. True, if clubs are barring single men and NOT single women they are
  20. discriminating based on sex and I would hope the courts would find
  21. that to be illegal discrimination.

  23. Bill Arnett mentioned the idea of womens health spas that allow only
  24. women members and mentioned that that was legal discrimination.  Now
  25. here is some food for thought.  Suppose a nudist/naturist resort was
  26. for women only.  I.e. only women could purchase memberships.  Would
  27. that be legal?  Well, my guess is yes.  Now suppose they had a rule
  28. that members could bring guests (for a small day use fee, or maybe
  29. no day use fee, and maybe a limit on number of guests) and furthermore
  30. the guests could be men or women, children or adults.  Hmm, they now
  31. have effectively blocked out single men coming in on their own.  Note
  32. that a single male could come in as a guest of a female.

  34. Is this discrimination?  Would it be legal?  Its an interesting thought.
