  28. Do you honestly think that legal business folks wouldn't do that if
  29. there weren't laws against that sort of thing?  Any time there is a
  30. sellers market the prices go up.  Fortunately there are laws
  31. protecting us from the prices going too high.  Sellers of contraband,
  32. by their very nature, aren't as concerned with such laws considering
  33. the fact that what they are selling in the first place is highly
  34. illegal.

  36. Scummy business practices are a problem everywhere, not just in
  37. blackmarket commodities.

  39. Just how much is food worth to you?  Would it be worth 5 times as much
  40. for you to eat if that's what it took?  Would you start growing your own
  41. at that price?  Or do you live in a city where you are *dependent* on
  42. someone else to get you your daily fix?  How much would it be worth to
  43. you to drive to your favorite CO beach?  What if gasoline were 10
  44. times as expensive, would it still be worth it?  Those are examples of
  45. both a need and a desire.

  47. I won't deny that many drug dealers use very dirty business practices,
  48. but then so do many legal business people, some with full power of the
  49. law behind them.  Telemarketers fer instances.  Not sure which I'd
  50. rather have next door, a telemarketer or a drug dealer :-).
