- Yes...here in North Staffs there were two both on KRS100016v BMW's I
- personaly know people who have been done by them...they have a video in
- the fairing...very nasty....also they tend to play 'dirty..' two of us on
- large Yams came across one on the return journey from practice at Oulton
- Park.. we picked him up in front of us a few hundred yards from the
- exit gate...being that ALL BMW's are suspect we slowed and let him pass
- the bike was dark blue with small panniers, the rider was dressed in all
- black. He shot off in front and set of at a good pace through the lanes,
- we followed but were a bit suspicious so kept behind...when we got to
- faster roads he was travelling at 80+... we closed in to overtake but
- decided this was a copper...his riding style was very 'wooden' and
- upright. He the increased his speed to around 100 and started to do
- stupid manoeuvers.....the best was over taking on a blind bend whilst
- crossing double whites...we followed for 10 miles or so then we split
- up. Two miles from home I came across him again in slow traffic so I
- pulled up along side and had a good look...it was as we had
- suspected..the filth..he even had his small police badge on his coat
- obscured by felt tip marker. I have no doubt that if we had passed him
- which we could have easily done that the video camera would have
- started. At the start of this letter I said there WERE two bikes....well
- it appears that the other one was stationed on one of our favorite race
- tracks 'The Cat & Fiddle' road and in an attempt to nail a suspect he put
- the bike through a dry stone wall. The method they used to catch bad
- boys there was to have a normal plod bike at the start of the 'track'
- with the rider dismounted and have the plain clothes bike hidden half
- way up the track...wait till a fast rider set off then radio his pal to
- start his engine...all pretty nasty really...it caught out a lot of
- riders.
