- I've had a 1983 Yamaha Virago 500 since August. It had less than
- 100 miles on it when I bought it. (Yes, I'm sure, and no I wasn't
- born yesterday.) I put 1000 miles on it, and I love it.
-
- I can't judge from just 1000 miles, but others have told me the
- bike has a reputation for being very reliable. The only thing I
- had to do to get the bike running, after it layed around in
- neglect for 7 years, was to install a new battery and a new
- starter relay. I've heard the starter relay is one of the few
- common problems with the bike.
-
- I don't think that 22,000 miles is a lot for a Virago, unless
- it's been abused and not maintained. I'm sure you'll be enjoying
- it for quite a while.
