- Yes, the easiest way to remove the rear wheel is to remove the
- front wheel. Yeah, I know that sounds hokey, but here's how you
- do it:

- Set the bike up on the center stand. With a stout strap or rope,
- secure the center stand to the front forks or your crossover pipe.
- Remove the front wheel being careful to not get the spacers, washers
- and bearings in dirt.

- Lean the bike over like a knealing horse. This raises the rear
- end considerably.

- Remove the rear axle nut and remove the axle. Carefully slide the
- wheel out the now larger opening.

- This was the way our former chief wrench taught us to do it at a club
- tech session many years ago. I had a '77 R100/7 and it worked like
- a champ when I needed to put on new tires.
