- At Steve Crevier's first race meeting, he made an immediate impression.
- The Westwood announcer had taken to calling him "Shrimp" by the end of the day.
- At the next meeting, the announcer had forgotten what little French he thought
- he knew previously, but lessee, it was from the ocean & started with "s"...
- Et voila; Steve immediately became, and remained, "The Squid Kid"! This was
- about '84 or '85, before I'd ever heard of r.m, but even then I think "squid"
- was coming into common Hollywood North jargon.
