  12. NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION

  14. This post contains information on the Northern Pacific Railway Historical
  15. Association, our magazine THE MAINSTREETER, and our 1993 Convention.
  16. A membership application is included.

  18. We appreciate your interest in the Northern Pacific Railway Historical
  19. Association.  The NPRHA's over 1000 members are dedicated to research,
  20. preservation, and modeling the Northern Pacific Railway.
  21. a)  We publish THE MAINSTREETER magazine, a 32+ page quarterly magazine, 
  22. as our main way of preserving information about the NP. 
  23. b)  We publish a calendar illustrated with NP photographs and highlighted
  24. with the dates of many important events in NP history.
  25. c)  The NPRHA holds an ANNUAL CONVENTION at an important point along the line. 
  26. d)  The Association also produces original video tapes and color slide sets
  27. and offers a variety of clothing, hats, and other souvenir items.  The video
  28. tapes show and discuss the operations of the NP using the experiences of
  29. veteran NP workers and historic films, photographs, and documents.  All of
  30. those items are available from our Company Store.

  32. The MAINSTREETER MAGAZINE is produced using high quality photographic
  33. reproductions with articles written by NPRHA members.  The magazine contains
  34. one to three articles per issue along with regular columns on modeling,
  35. collectibles, stories of the NP, plus general NPRHA and NP news.  The success
  36. of this magazine has attracted many new members, swelling our membership over
  37. the 1000 mark.

  39. THE CONVENTION THIS YEAR will be in St. Paul, MN, on July 15-18, 1993 at the
  40. Kelly Inn and it will include historical clinics, NP prototype equipment, a
  41. swap meet, and a model contest.  For REGISTRATION INFORMATION, write:

  45. Last year, the convention was in Portland, Oregon, at Lewis and Clark College,
  46. on July 17-19, 1992, and we were treated to operation of the SP&S 700 4-8-4 in
  47. Northern Pacific livery as "NP 2668."  That engine number follows the last of
  48. the NP's A-3 Northerns;  the SP&S locomotive order directly followed the NP's 
  49. and was constructed using the NP A-3 design.

  51. Regular association dues are $17.00 per year, with Sustaining Memberships
  52. available at $32.00 (includes 1st class postage and a contribution to the work
  53. of NPRHA).  NP Veterans are eligible for the special rate of $10.00 per year,
  54. with full membership priviledges.  Members receive four quarterly issues of The
  55. Mainstreeter Magazine and an NPRHA calendar. The calendar reproduces historic
  56. photographs and shows significant events in NP history.  Calendars are
  57. available separately.
