  14.    I'm not sure what you mean. If kasparov, or Karpov, or Fischer, etc., were
  15. to hop in a time machine and go back to whenever, they would surely mop the
  16. floor with anyone they encountered. Not only are they just as good personally,
  17. but they have decades of chess learning their opponents would be ignorant of.
  18.    More realistically, if you could haul one of the great champs of the past up
  19. to today, and let them absorb modern chess theory, I think many of the past
  20. great champions couls easily risk being champion again. Why not?
