  13. I got in a similar situation last weekend:
  14. 1NT by me, 2S by LHO alerted, X by pard alerted
  15. The double is negative if spades are real, but spade
  16. cards if not. I did not know their meaning of 2S.
  17. I asked the director afterwards and he suggested
  18. something like:
  19. alert, this may be an alert
  20. and explain the possibilities.
