- Well, here goes
-
- Practical Horseman (useful information/English)
- Horse & Rider (useful information/Western and general)
- Equus (this is about as technical/scientific as I get)
- Western Horseman (this is the one I grew up on)
- Chronicle of the Horse (for Thoroughbred information)
- Midwest Sport Horse (this is mostly advertisements, stories on one side of the
- page about a horse whose stud fee is on the other side of the page)
- Appaloosa Journal (for Appaloosa information)
- Appaloosa Sport Horse (I think the name has changed to just Sport Horse
- and they're now covering other breeds, but I haven't seen an issue for
- a couple years)
- The Corral (newspaper format, local (mostly Ohio) information,
- on everything from endurance/competitive trail, dressage, CT, gymkhana,
- hunters/jumpers, barrel racing, rodeo, state breed-specific clubs,
- ==when and where the shows
- are, who the trainers are, local judges, horses/trucks/trailers/
- etc. for sale==
- you name it, if it's got something to do with horses and it's within
- a few states of Ohio, it's in the Corral.
-
- I usually subscribe to two or three magazines a year, and switch around
- a bit. I'm currently getting Horse & Rider, Equus, Appaloosa Journal,
- and the Corral and Midwest Sport Horse.
