  14. Unless something goes horribly wrong, I'll be winging over to Britain for
  15. a visit approximately April 1-12.  I'd love to meet some of you British
  16. net.folk if we can arrange it!  And, I'd appreciate any pointers to 
  17. things equestrian to do/see at that time of year.

  19. I'll be using Cambridge as a base because I have friends there.  They 
  20. are somewhat "horsey" (have been taking lessons off and on for the last
  21. year or so) but not seriously into it.  They can show me the local stables
  22. and tell me where they went pony-trekking in Wales last year, but I don't
  23. expect real expert guidance.  My friends are leaving for a convention on
  24. Jersey on 4/8, so I'll probably rent a car after that and venture out on
  25. my own.  Don't know if I can make it up to Scotland, but may manage to
  26. pop over into Wales.  Much will depend on the weather and my courage at
  27. driving the "wrong side of the road"!

  29. My Frommer's travel guide says the Grand National is run in April, but
  30. does NOT say what date!  Does anyone know?  I'd practically kill to see
  31. that race, but I can't shift my travel dates much due to school schedule.

  33. Since this is not my first trip to Britain, I don't feel I have to see/do
  34. everything in 12 days.  (Okay, I'm fibbing, but one must be Practical. :-) )
