- A couple of clarifications on my post about the Humane Society of
- Utah.
- 1. The source of the information is a wire report from the Associated
- Press. It was an interview with Craig Cook, president of the board of
- the Humane Society of Utah, and Gene Baierschmidt, Executive Director.
- If anyone is really dying to have a copy of the original article, I
- will send it if you send me an SASE. First 15 people only.
-
- 2. State Humane societies can be completely independent of national
- organizations and may make whatever policy decisions they like. Thus,
- as has been pointed out on this net before, you can't judge one state
- chapter by the actions of another, nor can you judge the national
- organizations on the basis of what the Utah organization does.
- Although they quote Gene Baierschmidt as saying that animal protection
- groups across the country are taking such steps (checks of the beliefs
- of their employees and their families regarding animal rights).
