  37. The other piece of information needed to clarify:

  39. ... until last year when we had our first rabies cases, Connecticut &
  40. the New England area were relatively isolated from the rabies problem
  41. because in order to get here, you have to cross water (i.e. The Hudson
  42. River, et.al.) which always slows these things down.  Hence, the theory
  43. that the rabid racoons must have been imported (I don't think most
  44. racoons have the $0.75 needed to cross the Newburgh bridge ;^)
