  26. I tried to follow up on Sue's post about the ugly Secretariat, but it
  27. was gone, alas!  Anyway,~

  29. As I'm sure all of you have seen/know, Secretariat himself was one
  30. fine example of a horse - he was gorgeous.  Unfortunately, he didn't
  31. stamp his babies with his own fine qualities.  The farm I worked for
  32. had the ugliest Secretariat filly you'll ever want to see.  She was a
  33. touch roman nosed (don't know where she got it from) and had the most
  34. crooked legs from the knee down that I've ever seen.~

  36. She did go to the races - briefly.  She was sold at Keeneland last
  37. fall, in foal to Seattle Song for around $20,000.  I was amazed!
  38. Somebody obviously bought her on paper.~

  40. The sorry thing is that I also know all her brothers and sisters and
  41. she is the ugliest one of the bunch!  (they are by in chron order for
  42. you TB people (following up on the colour thread, what talent to mix
  43. two threads together :-) I've included their colours.  The mare,
  44. Golden Skate is a chestnut)

  48. Filly 1990 - chestnut by Vice Regent~
  49. Colt - 1991 - chestnut by Spend A Buck~
  50. Colt - 1992 - bay by Saratoga Six~

  52. Currently in foal to Regal Classic - that should be a chestnut.~
