- Colleen,
-
- I, too bought the Warm Toes riding boots this year, and I LOVE them. I
- have always rode in leather riding boots all year round, and in the winter
- my feet would freeze no matter how many pairs of socks I had on. So far
- this winter i have only worn 1 pair of socks + Warm Toes and my feet are
- warm. I had never had anything with Thinsulate in it before, but I'm a fan
- now. I liked the boots so much I got myself a pair of gloves with
- Thinsulate in them, not specifically made for riding, but they work fine
- and they keep my hands 100% warmer than any other gloves I have ever had.
-
- One other thing I did different this year is I got a cheap pair of stirrup
- sweat pants, and I've been riding in those. I always ride in breeches, but
- the fleece stirrup pants are close enough to breeches and much warmer. I
- wear a pair of Winterleggs under them, mine are really old, I don't know if
- they still make them.
-
- I'm the kind of person who can't stand to be cold, but with these few
- additions to my wardrobe I have managed to stay comfortable this winter,
- for the first time ever! I wouldn't mind getting a Thinsulate jacket, but
- its too late in the season to be getting it now (ie. there are none left.)
-
- Anyone else with winter apparel suggestions?
