- I have no idea if this will get out, since I seem to be able to answer
- messages, but I don't know if I can just post a general one like this.
- Unlike most of you, I access Internet/Usenet through a BBS, which is in
- the LA area, even though I live in Northern California. I work for the
- State of California. My wife, Mary, and I have a 16 acre ranch,
- Wheelgate Farms, where we stand a Cleveland Bay stallion, Wheelgate's
- Lord Charles. (We named the ranch after the horse, who's imported from
- England, not vice-versa.)
-
- Mary teaches dressage and trains, I just ride and function as as the
- ranch Go-Fer. We've studied primarily with Charles deKunffy off and on
- since 1974. I've cliniced with enough other dressage instructors, some
- famous and some unknown, to have concluded that one lesson with Charles
- is like six from anybody else. I suppose I shouldn't say that, because
- I wouldn't want Charles to get too popular. He's expensive enough as it
- is.
-
- Mary rides our stallion and shows him at dressage, although he also
- jumps very well, but we're both in our 50's and too old for that. I
- recently sold my Thoroughbred gelding and am starting a four year old
- mare, by our stallion, out of our Thoroughbred mare. I hope to start
- showing Lady Sarah at Training Level in the spring. We've got her two
- younger sisters waiting in the wings and for sale.
-
- Oh yes, since Mary and I write a book/video review column for a
- California horse magazine called Ride!, we have access to most of the
- latest horse books
