- I like to use acrylic yarn to make myself sweaters
- and vests. Reading the latest thread on wool vs
- acrylic, I was happy to see that at least one other
- netter is a "warm" person (I am usually too warm with
- a sweater and so I opt for vests and usually have to
- pull it off halfway through the day). I find wool
- incredibly warm for me and only wear it on very cold,
- windy days.
-
- One problem I have with acrylics is that the edges curl.
- I usually pick styles that do not have a finished edge,
- that is for example, vests with ribbing on all edges.
- I made one vest that I adapted from a pattern that is
- button down, sleeveless, scoop neck. The vest is
- supposed to be form fitting and I crocheted around the
- neck and front edges (with contrasting yarn) and knit
- a seed stitch along the bottom edge. It's the bottom
- edge that folds up. I was thinking of ripping it out
- and finishing it in another manner, but I just noticed
- that it is knitted from the bottom up (I thought it
- was a crocheted edging also) so that would be a little
- hard to do.
-
- It's a nice vest and I would like to fix it. Any suggestions?
