  30. I once ended up with an extra Campy pedal.  It had french threads,
  31. so it went on the only bike with french threaded cranks...my wifes
  32. old clunker with cottered steel cranks..to replace a cheap pedal
  33. that outlived its usefulness.  One day she came out of her office
  34. to discover that someone had taken that pedal...just the pedal!
  35. I consoled myself with the thought that anyone who stole a single
  36. pedal probably thought they knew quality when they saw it, and then
  37. used it on their gazillion dollar english threaded cranks.  (French
  38. threads are just enough smaller/different so that the pedal seems
  39. to screw into english threads properly, but strips out VERY quickly.)
