- Don't know about the "newer small style". I have the Time Racing pedals
- with Time Racing shoes on my road bike. They are 1.5 years old (is this
- new enough?). Anyway, here's the trick: the pedal will normally "hang"
- with the front pointing up. Give it a gentle kick with the toe of the
- shoe and then kind of slide the front cleat into the front of the pedal.
- Once the shoe has been slid as far forward as possible, simply push down
- while moving the heel slightly sideways. The loud "click" is positive
- feedback that you are now locked-in.
-
- To get out, kick the heel outwards. I find this easiest when the pedal
- is at the 6 o'clock position.
