- as i said, it worked fine. did'nt require any pre-heating (though keep
- in mind that this was in the everglades, with evening temperatures in
- the 60's). one did have to pump the stove fairly vigorously to really
- get it going (though again, this could just be my own lack of experience
- with the stove - it did seem to get easier on later days). as to flare,
- the first couple of times, i opened the fuel valve too much, so that the
- flame jumped pretty high (and you could hear fuel trickling into the
- burner cup). so i'd turn it off, wait for it to cool (as per the
- instructions), and restart the process. again, this improved as i got
- the hang of it.
